About Me

My Photo
Patricia Thomas
My name is Patricia Thomas and I have been painting for the last 20+ years. Although I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science from Auburn University at Montgomery, Alabama, I have received art training in elective classes at AUM, continuing education classes at the Memphis College of Art, and art classes under the tutelage of Julia Peters, accomplished artist of Greenville, SC, where I now reside with my husband and three children.

I usually paint pictures of family, pets, and scenes from my travels. Now that my kids are back in school, I'm looking forward to having more time to devote to painting. I love expressing my creativity through choosing a subject, deciding on the composition, and bringing the endeavor to fruition. I enjoy working in oils because of its tradition, malleability, durability, and layering effect (especially over mistakes). I work (slowly but surely) around its slow drying time by working on several projects at a time.
